What is Petracrow?
Petra + Crow
Petracrow is a queer-owned metaphysical shop specializing in handmade magical goods and crochet products. As a queer owned business we understand the importance of creating a welcoming safe space to connect, learn, and shop. We strive to create good quality products that are made with our passion and love.
A name of many meanings, Petracrow represents connection to the great mysteries of the Craft. Petra means stone in Greek, referring to our connections to the earth and the material world. Crows have been associated with witches and wise ones for centuries, referring to our connection to the spiritual world. Furthermore phonetically, Petracrow sounds similar to Petrichor, the word describing the smell produced after rain falls on dry ground. Petrichor comes from two descriptive greek words; “πέτρα”, meaning stone and “ίχώρ”, referring to the ethereal blood of the gods in Greek mythology. Petracrow may be a new word but what our name represents is spiritual wisdom and connection.
We are currently located in Salem Massachusetts operating mostly online and through events. Our goal is to connect to the community through open rituals, crocheting circles, and special events so stay tuned. You can find us in person at craft fairs in the North Shore area as well as on our website and social media. If you have any questions about our products or wish to book a special event or reading, please let us know through our contact page.

Joyce
Since childhood, Joyce has been interested in crafts of all types. She started pursuing crochet and knitting in college, and her skills have only grown since then! Joyce has earned some awards for her crochet at the Big E (Eastern States Exposition Fair). In her free time, she enjoys working on personal projects (currently learning how to sew). As she is new to the world of witchcraft, she is learning more about the foundations of magick through AJ!
Donte
One thing is for certain, Donte has always had a passion in crocheting. He has been crocheting since his grandmother taught him when he was a child. As a lifelong crocheter his favorite things to make are bandannas, hats, and scarves. Donte’s main passion growing up has always been building and crafting with his hands. He finds crochet and crafting deeply therapeutic and loves to share his talent with others. There is always room for him to learn something new and he often challenges himself with a new design or stich he has yet to try. His dedication has lead him to partnering up with other artist to create the curated lines seen throughout our shop & website.

Built From The Ground Up
“One day, we’re going to have a magic shop of our own in Salem”.
What started off as a dream for high schoolers AJ and Sylvia in 2014 has now become a full blown operation. After meeting Joyce and Dante, the four have worked together using their skills in crafting, magic, historical studies, and religious knowledge to create a company they can stand behind proudly.
Our mission statement is to inspire ethical creativity and imagination that promotes joy in the community.
Thus, we never utilize AI imaging, writing, or any AI assistant (asides from spell check) in any of our work.
We follow sustainable practices to protect the environment such as re-using and repurposing scrap materials.
We strive to uphold ourselves as a space open to all people no matter their race, ethnicity, sexuality, or religion.
We take pride in the quality of our work and strive to improve our products to be the best they can be.
Established in 2025, Petracrow is a passion project for the group of four to help themselves and others find their voices through the arts, spiritual practices, and gain a sense of community.
